1. The 5am meow
Often a clock, not a speech. Cats are crepuscular. If food or attention landed at dawn once, the voice comes back. Same meow at noon can mean something else.
A cat rarely says one thing with one sound. Read the body and the moment: 5am meow, sofa, slow blink, tail lash, come-then-leave.

Not always fear, and not “mad at you”. Refuge, rest, guests, too much noise. Look at the ears and whether they come back out on their own.
Usually relaxed, affiliative. It is not a magic “I love you” button you can force. If the tail is lashing, the blink does not cancel that.
Arousal going up. Irritation, overstimulation, sometimes play that is about to tip. A good moment to stop the hands, not to lean in.
Contact on their terms. A hello, a check, then space. It is not rejection. They set the dose.
Film the moment, 10 seconds is enough. Or type what just happened. Mimo reads that clip against their profile, not a generic cat article.
If they hide for days, stop eating, or seem in pain, skip the app. Call a vet.
